Getting to Taveuni

Getting to Taveuni is an experience in itself. You can fly from Suva or Nadi on the main island via Savusavu (Vanua Levu) or travel by ferry from Suva (main island) or Buca Bay (Vanua Levu).

Getting to Taveuni by Air

The Fiji domestic airlines of Air Fiji and Sun Air offer a number of flights daily from Nadi or Suva to Taveuni. The flight time is usually around 1 hour 30 mins with a stop off in Savusavu.

Getting to Taveuni by Ferries

Ferries depart almost daily from Suva to Taveuni via Savusavu and usually take about 12 hours.

Ferries also arrive in Taveuni from Buca Bay on Vanua Levu.

Although it may be possible to "book on the day" it is usually best to book ahead with the ferry operators and domestic airlines prior to your travel time. Also check with the airlines regarding luggage restrictions. Whether you travel by air or by ferry, the journey allows you wonderful sights and scenery.
